ThinkProgress, a liberal online publication, attempts to spin her ideas of drilling for energy independence by pointing out her desire to drill more. It paints a picture of a woman who thinks that alternative energy is a solution that isn't practical right now.For all intents and purposes, her assessment is spot on -- 10 years is a conservative estimate made by even the most optimistic scientists and analysts. Oil is a tremendous part of our lives, and while we must move in the direction of renewable energies, the need for cheaper gas today overshadows the future needs.
